On December 24th, 2023, Our founder, Collins Nyatanga executed the start of a long mission to make a difference in his homeland. TANGA Foundation's journey began with a simple act of kindness: a food drive in Harare, Zimbabwe's capital city.  Our founder chose to start at an orphanage, recognizing the importance of family and the need to support those who lacked it. The day of the food drive was filled with anticipation and nerves, but above all, it was filled with hope.

As we arrived at the orphanage, we were greeted by eager faces, hungry not only for food but also for connection and love. We started the day with a prayer, surrounded by children whose resilience and joy despite their circumstances touched our hearts. We played games, shared stories, and laughed together, forming bonds that transcended the mere act of giving food. The highlight of the day was serving the food we had prepared to the children. As they enjoyed their meals, their smiles lit up the room, and for a moment, all the struggles seemed to fade away. But it was a conversation with one particular child that left a lasting impression on us. He expressed his gratitude for the food and the time we spent with them, but he also shared his longing for more. "when will you come back?" he said, his words echoing in our hearts. In that moment, we realized that our mission went beyond providing physical nourishment; it was about offering love, support, and a sense of belonging.

As the day came to an end, it was hard to say goodbye. We had formed connections with these children that would stay with us forever. But we found solace in the dedicated team at Tariro House, who continue to provide care and support to these children long after we leave.

Leaving that day, we were filled with gratitude for the experience and a renewed determination to continue our mission. Tanga Foundation is committed to bridging the gap so that every child can dream without limitations. Our journey has just begun, but with hope in our hearts and the support of our community, we know that together, we can make a difference.
